TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES OF THE CONCRETE INDUSTRY AND THEN PROPOSE A SOLUTION OF PLASTIC BRICK

(identify the entity; what specific sustainability issue at the entity are you addressing; what is your proposed solution?)
What is it called?
What are the basic mechanics?
How big is it (give a figure and unit) Unsustainable?
How and why?

INFORMATION TO USE FOR THE CONCRETE INDUSTRY:
There are some good facts about the concrete industry in this paper. I posted some of them below.

Concrete is by volume the most used material in construction, with annual global consumption totaling approximately three tons per capita (Soroushian and Ghebrab, 2013)

Studies acknowledge that the global production of ordinary cement accounts for 5e8% of global anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions currently (Mehta, 2001; Oss and Padovani, 2003; Worrell et al., 2001), which could increase to 10e15% by 2020, due to increased use of cement in the developing world nations (Szabo et al., 2006 ).

Concrete masonry and related products accounted for 11% of the total cement sales in the US in 2013 (USGS, 2014), second only to ready-mixed concretes, which accounted for 70% of cement sales.

The environmental impact of concrete masonry is considerable, mainly from the manufacture of ordinary cement, which accounts for 91% of carbon emissions of common hollow-celled masonry block (Nisbet et al., 1997; NREL, 2012)
