The Article Analysis should be a researched, edited, and typed critical analysis which answers the specific question posed and includes specific references from the assigned supplemental article(s) as well as the textbook and other academic sources. Quality submissions will present a clear knowledge of the subject and provide an in depth, well supported foundation for the given answer to the question posed.
Important note: this is the most difficult assessment assigned for the course and requires a quality understanding of the material, a ability to critically examine the material, and an ability to craft a essay reflecting such.
Specific Question for Unit 1:
In Texas, the Alamo is shrouded in mystery and legend and stands as one of the most revered places in the state. However, new evidence suggests much of the legendary components of the battle are inaccurate or exaggerated. Still, the legend of the Alamo stands as a physical reminder of the dedication of the average Texan to stand and fight in the face of tyranny.  To what extent does the historic legend surrounding the Alamo continue to impact federal/state relationships today as well as the overall identity of the Texas political culture? Does the legend truly carry more weight, and, if so, why? Answer should be supported with evidence from the article and textbook.
