First they came to talk about how he didnt speak out because he wasnt a Socialists, or a Trade unionists, and the Jews. But when they came for him there wasnt anybody to speak to him.  Martin Niemoller was a German, he was also a  anti-Nazi activist. He was also a Lutheran pastor. He at first  supported Hitler, but then he came strongly oppse the Nazi party.
The Lottery was held in the morning on the 27th of June. It was a clear and sunny day, fresh warmth of a full-summer day in the village.  In the village, the flowers were blossoming lavishly. The grass was also richly green in the village.  (The lottery would take two days; it started on the 26th of June. Jackson p. 1 )  but the village would take less than two hours to do the lottery because there are about three hundred people.
The lottery, there were a lot of different things in the story. The people at the beginning were happy.  But at the end of theIn the lottery,( the lottery box had some paper inside the box. It used to have a wood chip. Jackson P.6) But they had to make it paper because there were too many people. ( When they called by name one by one they couldnt look at the paper until the other had their paper. Jackson p.19 )  So in the first lottery, no one died the next day someone was stoned to death.  the story, they were not happy anymore.  Because the person who was stoned to death was a mother and a wife.  So in the beginning, the kids were playing with the stones.

He was shooting an elephant  (German guy was a police officer who the people hated because he was German and they were European. Orwell 1 paragraph) Someone came to the officer and said that there was an elephant out. But the elephant walked a lot of ways and he killed a man. So the elephant had been chained up and he was tame. The elephant broke his chain and escaped.  (The elephant destroyed somebodys bamboo hut, he also killed a cow.Orwell 13 paragraph)
So the elephant was in the field where rice is grown and he was only a few hundred yards away. When they came upon the elephant mess up the field of rice that was being grown.  The elephant was standing eight yards from the road, he was on the left side toward the crowd that was approaching. The elephant was tearing up bunches of grass, he was also beating them against his knees he was cleaning them and stuffing them into the elephant mouth.
Mr. Orwell didnt want to shoot the elephant but if he didnt the people still wouldnt like him. He knew that if he would have just watched the elephant until his owner would come and get him. Then the owner of the elephant wouldnt have been mad because he lost this elephant. It took five shots to kill the elephant because he would die. The elephant was at least worth a hundred pounds; dead but only worth the value of his tusks, five pounds. So the Europeans like the German guy because he saves the people from the elephant. They wont mean to the German guy because they saw a difference in the guy.
