The essay must be about an event that shaped me the way I am which I am more family oriented now than ever. Growing up with only my mom, dad, and sister is all that I knew everyone else was in Mexico. I never cherished my moments with my very small family. I envied others with big families and the holidays were my least favorite because I was embarrassed of my small family. During my moms journey with cancer and her recovery I learned to cherish my small family because they are all I have.
