Professor Alan H. Monroe developed this very popular method to convince others to change their
opinions or behaviors. Speakers have used this method of persuasion for over eighty years!
1. Choose a topic that you feel strongly about. This is a persuasive speech and I’d prefer something talking about expectations society has for others or something similar at least.
2. Please cite evidence as required in the Monroes Motivated Sequence outline template and sample speech included in the syllabus. Both will be attached files for you to use.
3. Follow the format carefully when you construct the speech outline. Monroes Sequence steps must be followed in the order you see in the attached file below.
The speech must be designed to persuade an audience about something you feel strongly about and should be based on the outline. The length of the speech should be around 4 to 6 minutes long.
Just to repeat this, follow the format of the files listed below. Don’t use powerpoint please.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me and I’ll try to respond as soon as I can, please and thank you.
