The proposed project will incorporate a survey instrument to address the primary objectives and will include a series of questions regarding human resource management practices in the healthcare setting. The questionnaire instrument will encompass a target population of hospital leaders, operations managers, and human resources personnel as well as nursing and other clinical managers who have direct reports to determine if current human resources practices are effective. The responses that are provided will be evaluated based upon reported rates of retention, turnover, employee satisfaction, and other concerns. The hypothesis that will be considered for the study is the following: Human resource management capabilities and activities are instrumental in improving performance-related outcomes in healthcare organizations in the city of Agra, India and play a role in increasing employee satisfaction and in reducing turnover rates among nurses and other employees. It is expected that this information will play a critical role in determining how to increase resource capabilities in the healthcare organizations located in the city of Agra, India as appropriate.
