Choose two of the four forms of composition discussed in Part 4 of your textbook (Sonata, Theme and Variations, Minuet and Trio, Rondo).

Do some research (YouTube, Google) and find one example of each of these two forms written by one of the three composers from the Classical Era, but not the one who is featured for that form in the text. So, (for example) if you choose Sonata form, do not use Mozart’s music, choose a piece by Haydn or Beethoven.

Be aware that the term “Sonata” can be used to describe the piano sonatas of various composers.  This means that the entire piano sonata has three movements (or sections) and one or more of those may be in sonata form.  Likewise, a symphony may have four movements but only one or two of those movements might be in Sonata Form.  We are looking for a specific movement of a concerto, sonata, symphony, string quartet piece, etc., that is written in the Sonata Form.

Do not just list the forms.  Discuss the form.  What makes it a “sonata”?  How is it different from other forms?  How does this piece specifically fit the form?
